The Town Council is primarily financed through the precept. This is added to the Council Tax bill sent to all householders in April each year.
The Town Council also receives income from providing services. The precept, income and some reserves are used to provide services. The anticipated income and expenditure for the year is set out in the Town Council’s budget.
At the end of every financial year, the Town Council produces an Annual Governance and Accounting statement (AGAR). This is a review by the external auditor. The Town Council also has an internal auditor. Documents relating to the precept and finance can be downloaded below.
