Tenders

The Transparency Code 2015 specifies what open data local authorities must publish.  It requires that certain local authorities must publish details of every invitation to tender for contracts to provide goods and/or services over a certain value.

For each invitation, the following details must be published:

1. Reference number

2. Title

3. Description of the goods and/or services sought

4. Start, end and review dates

5. Local authority department responsible

The Town Council will publish on this page details of invitations to tender as and when necessary.

Tarmac Tender – October 2024

Tenders are sought for the removal of two (2) broken and undulating tarmac footpaths and foundation / base to a demolished changing facility adjacent to a row of cherry trees / metal fence and the laying of a new 1.8m wide tarmac footpath. The area in question is commonly known locally as ‘the dog walk’ in Levellings Park.

The works are to be undertaken at the southern end of the Sir Hickman Beckett Bacon Memorial Park (Levellings Park), Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, DN21 2NT.

Tenders are invited to contact the Town Clerk to arrange a site visit and survey, so the works and position of the new footpath is agreed and understood.

The works comprise, briefly, of the following:

Southern footpath and changing room base removal.

  1. Excavate out existing footpath and changing room base to a depth of approximately 200-250mm depth. Include to remove kerbs and concrete, seal redundant drainage pipes  etc. Approx 250 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  2. Cut back into existing footpaths at each end [which will remain], to create neat edge. Cart away spoil to off-site tip.
  3. Provide, spread and rake average thickness of 200mm of topsoil, over the area in preparation for Gainsborough Town Council to grass seed. Approx 250 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.

New ‘dog walk’ footpath.

  • Excavate out existing footpath [including removal of channels] to a depth of approximately 200mm. Approx 225 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  • Excavate out in existing grass, to a depth not exceeding 170mm from finished level, to create new footpath at 1.8m wide. Approx 270 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  • Disperse soil and grass in the bottom of the old footpath area and top-up with fresh soil, levelled and raked in preparation for Gainsborough Town Council to grass seed. Approx 180 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  • Provide and lay new 150mm x 50mm edging kerbs, on bed of concrete with haunch, to form new retainer at both sides of new footpath. Approx 300m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  • Cut back to form suitable tie-in joints where required.
  • Provide, lay and roll average 100mm thickness of graded sub-base, 45mm thickness of AC20 dense binder course, followed by 25mm thickness of AC10 dense surface course. Approx 270 sq.m. Tenderers to satisfy themselves of the quantities.
  • Move / ‘switch’ existing metal fence panel and existing metal gate to align with the new footpath at the western / Ropery Road end.

General

  • Provide copies of all insurances.
  • Provide copies of risk assessments, method statements, project plan etc.
  • Include for fencing and appropriate signage to barrier-off working areas for duration of works, as necessary.
  • Dispose of any surplus spoil etc. to licensed waste facility
  • Leave site clean and tidy on completion.
