Regular news   We are looking at ways to improve communications with town and parish councils and we are hoping to send a monthly email to you with key information, which we hope you will find useful. Please let us know if you want more information and we will do our best to help. We are hoping to send this out every month.
Consultations   We currently have two consultations running until October – please make sure you take a look and have your say.
The Local Council Tax Support Scheme   The Local Council Tax Support Scheme (sometimes known as Council Tax Reduction Scheme) is to help people on a low income to pay their Council Tax.  Local Council Tax Support Schemes (LCTS) were introduced from April 2013 when Council Tax Benefit was abolished and replaced by locally agreed schemes.  Each year councils need to approve a scheme for the following 12 months.   We are now holding a consultation to agree any changes to the scheme for 2023/24 and details can be found at www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/consultations.  This consultation will close at 9am on Friday 7 October 2022.   Budget Consultation   West Lindsey District Council has launched its annual budget consultation and is calling on residents and businesses to have their say on shaping future priorities. This year survey questions ask if the following should be a priority:   More enforcement – should the council focus on issues such as dog fouling, littering, on street parking enforcement Do you think it’s important for the council to provide and enhance leisure and cultural services such as Market Rasen Leisure Centre and Trinity Arts centre? Help with the cost of living increase The consultation can be completed online through the Council’s Website at www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/budget2022 or by requesting a paper survey. It closes at 9am on 3 October 2022.     Claxby Visitor Information Boards Updated   Visitors to Claxby can now find out more about this historical village thanks to new and updated posters produced by West Lindsey District Council. Working with Claxby Parish Council, the posters now offer a fascinating insight to the history of the village plus highlighting some notable points of interest.  David Beer, Clerk to Claxby Parish Council said: “We’re delighted to have worked with West Lindsey District Council on this. The posters had been in place for some time and had become faded and worn with some details out of date. The new design is clean and fresh and allows visitors to clearly see what there is in the area. The village is popular with walkers and the boards are ideally located to encourage them to explore a little further as they pass through.” Read the full story here: https://www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/council-news/2022/08/visitors-encouraged-explore-lincolnshire-wolds-village   Free Business Support West Lindsey District Council are delighted to be working with Retail Champion, Clare Bailey to offer free 121 business support. This is a golden opportunity for those working in retail, hospitality, leisure, and visitor attractions to register their interest and be involved, tapping into Clare’s 10 Step Action Plan and advice thanks to funding by West Lindsey District Council, Boston Borough Council and East Lindsey District Council. Tickets for the lottery cost £1 per week. Each ticket has a 1 in 50 chance to win a prize each week, with a top prize of £25,000! That’s a better chance of winning than the National Lottery or the Health Lottery! However, the real winners of the lottery are the good causes.
