RESOLVED that the minutes of the Remembrance Sunday & Armed Forces Day Working Group meeting held on Thursday 26 April 2018 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Remembrance Sunday & Armed Forces Day Working Group meeting held on Thursday 24 May 2018 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Remembrance Sunday & Armed Forces Day Working Group meeting held on Friday 15 June 2018 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
Members discussed the layout. They were of the view that the stage new stage location worked well and having a food / drink court also gave all caterers the same opportunity to sell their goods.
It was noted that at future events the two toilets near the scoring hut would be relocated to near the stage.
All feedback from the event has been positive, and people are already requesting the date for next years event.
It was noted that some town residents advised they didn’t realise the event was taking place, so more social media, posters and possibly flyers into schools next year.
RESOLVED to RECOMMEND TO COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE and MANAGEMENT AND FINANCE COMMITTEE to hold a Community / Armed Forces Day event at Marshalls Sports Ground on Saturday 29 June 2019 and the Council will provide a budget of £5,000.
Organisation had begun with regards to road closure. The Admin Support Officer will provide an update at the next meeting.
