The Town Council acknowledges that the grass in the General Cemetery is not to the standard that it would expect it to be.

Despite undertaking the first cut in February, the ongoing wet and warm weather has offered ideal growing conditions for grass and weeds and the grounds maintenance team have been unable to keep on top of the grass.

We are unable to safely cut grass when it is raining.

The grounds maintenance team will continue to cut grass in the cemetery and attempt to catch up with the grass cutting cycle. However, this will unfortunately result in grass sticking to monuments and memorials; consequently the Town Council apologies in advance for this.

The grounds maintenance team are equipped with industrial blowers and will try to clear away any cut grass from memorials and graves.

The Town Council once again apologies for any distress the above may cause and we thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
