  1. GREEN INFRASTRUCTURE STUDY (Paper B)

Members reviewed the draft Green Infrastructure study received from WLDC and detailed the comments to be submitted to WLDC, namely:

  • The green space known as ‘The Gap’ leading from Fielding Way to Corringham Road should be referenced within the report, with the aim to retain as green space.

  • Study lacks focus for the Southern SUE and linkages within the development to the ‘green band’ that runs on the higher area of the town parallel to the river, through to Foxby Hill and into Bluebell Wood. Important to protect vistas, wildlife access and biodiversity.

  • No reference in the study to the green vein east to west following Thorndike Way.

  • Greenspace surrounding X church in the gateway area not referenced.

  • Allotment sites should be referenced.

  • Mercers wood should be referenced.
