RESOLVED that the minutes of the Armed Forces Day, Remembrance Sunday & War Memorial Working Group meeting 26th September 2019 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
RESOLVED under Standing Order 10.a.vi to alter the order of business and take item 4 next.
RESOLVED to amend the RECOMMENDATION TO COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMITTEE
from: –
That the Committee approves the holding of an Armed Forces / Community Day event in 2020 at Marshalls Sports Ground on Saturday 27 June 2019 between 11am and 5pm and makes a recommendation to the Management and Finance Committee for budget provision at £5,000. Noting that external funding at an equivalent value is to be pursued and that the same significant level of working group member / volunteer activity is needed to deliver the event to: –
That the Committee approves the holding of an Armed Forces / Community Day event in 2020 in Gainsborough town centre on Sunday 28th June 2020 and makes a recommendation to the Management and Finance Committee for budget provision at £5,000. Noting that external funding at an equivalent value is to be pursued.
Note: Councillors Davies & Plastow abstained from voting on the above resolution.
RESOLVED TO RECOMMEND TO FULL COUNCIL to amend Structure and Functions in order to allow 3 additional ‘third party community members with an interest in the project or able to act as a subject matter expert’.
Note: Ian Bradley, Chris Rogers and Dick Lindsay left the meeting.
Admin Support Officer noted to the group the current progress of the organisation.
Councillor Davies and Frank Charlton are to ask All Saints Church if they wish to use the There But Not There figures.
Admin Support Officer to print and provide act of remembrance sheets for the war memorial service.
Councillor Clews volunteered to help with the tea/coffees on the day.
Members of the group clarified that there were 2 plans for Poppy Cascades, one will be within the Church and the second is planned to go on the Old Hall in 2021, however that neither are the project of the Town Council and therefore are no longer relatable to the Working Group
Admin Support Officer noted to the group ADB Builders have carried out works to level the block paving around the War Memorial free of charge.
The group discussed the need to have drawing/plans made up of where the fence will be moved to enable the planning application to move forward.
