Armed Forces Day, Remembrance Sunday & War Memorial Working Group January

- TO RECEIVE MEMBERS DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LOCALISM ACT 2011 AND TO RECEIVE ANY APPLICATIONS FOR DISPENSATION.

- MINUTES FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETINGS
RESOLVED that the minutes of the Armed Forces Day, Remembrance Sunday & War Memorial Working Group meeting 19th December 2019 be confirmed and signed as a correct record.
Note: Councillor Panter abstained from voting on the above resolution.
- ARMED FORCES/COMMUNITY DAY 2020
Note: Councillor Woolley arrived at 9.35am.
- The working group NOTED the event plan and indicative budget papers.
Note: Councillor Loates arrived at the meeting at 9.40am.
- Ian Bradley confirmed to the group that the income from advertising space for the programme will be put towards the cost of the event. Money from sale of the programme – before and during the event – will be for the event charity.
Ian Bradley noted to the group that PING will be contributing £350 towards the cost of the vintage bus.
Richard Lindsey confirmed to the group that FORD will be donating £2,000 towards the entertainment fees of the event in exchange for advertisement on the stage and the space provision for 2 vehicles. Richard Lindsey is to forward agreement details to the office. Richard Lindsey also noted his contact with Help for Heroes who will be donating use of a Hero Bear costume for the day. He also confirmed that the Marine display team would like to attend with a 36tonne recovery truck and paintball activity.
Councillor Clews noted to the group that herself, Councillor Rollings and Councillor Panter will donate £500 from each of their councillor initiative funds towards the event.
Councillor Dannatt noted to the group that the stall booking forms have been completed and are currently being issued. Councillor Dannatt is to contact Bradshaw’s regarding a stage truck for the event.
Admin Support Officer to look into costings/options for vintage children’s rides/activities.
The member of public who attended as a representative of Sturgate Airfield noted to the group that he is trying to secure a free flight for the Working Group to raffle/include within the programmes.

Working Group noted the ongoing progress of the planning application.
