Road Improvement Scheme

Below is an update from Lincolnshire County Council regarding the Pedestrian Crossing Refurbishment Ropery Road (Melrose Road), Gainsborough – please note, any enquiries regarding this improvement scheme should be made directly to the county council.

Due to start on 28/07/2025 for up to 5 days.
As part of these road works two-way temporary traffic signals, temporary pedestrian crossing facilities and a parking restriction (Ropery Road – East side only) will be in place on Ropery Road (between Melrose Road and North Marsh Road), from 08:00 to 18:00, Monday 28th to Friday 1st.
There will inevitably be some disruption during these works, but we will do our best to keep this to a minimum. This includes:

  • Maintaining access for residents and emergency services throughout the project as far as reasonably practicable
  • Keeping pedestrian footways open to the public as much as possible and providing adequate pedestrian diversions where closures are required
  • Having gatemen present at all times during the works to assist with property access and egress
  • Doing our absolute best to carry the scheme out as quickly and efficiently as possible

If you have any queries, or require further information, please contact the LCC Customer Service Centre on 01522 782070.
