We understand that wreaths and decorations placed on graves are meaningful expressions of remembrance, and they are always treated with care and respect.

As part of the Town Council’s longstanding annual cemetery maintenance programme, Christmas wreaths and other seasonal decorations located in grassed areas that are regularly mown will be removed toward the end of February. This allows routine mowing and essential spring preparation to take place safely and efficiently.

Families who wish to remove their decorations themselves are welcome to do so before this time. Decorations situated outside of grassed or regularly maintained areas will not be affected.

This notice is being shared well in advance to allow families sufficient time to make any arrangements they wish.
