The Council is pleased to announce that Councillor Richard Craig has been appointed Mayor for the 2026/27 municipal year, with Councillor Sheila Bibb appointed as Deputy Mayor.

Councillor Craig was formally elected to the role at the Annual Council Meeting and will serve as the town’s First Citizen throughout the coming year. As Mayor, he will represent the Council at civic, community and ceremonial events, supporting local organisations and promoting the interests of the town.

Councillor Craig has been an active member of the community and is looking forward to meeting residents, businesses and local groups during his year of office.
