It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Keith Panter, former Mayor of Gainsborough, on Saturday 23rd August.

Keith was co-opted onto the Council on 4 March 2014, representing the North West ward of the town, and faithfully served until 2024. During this time, he was appointed Mayor of Gainsborough from 14 May 2019 to 4 May 2021.

A well-respected and dedicated councillor, Keith gave his time generously in service to the town and its people. His commitment to the community, his kindness, and his ever-present smile will be fondly remembered.

Gainsborough Town Council is deeply grateful for his many contributions and the positive impact he made during his years of service.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, and all who knew him.

As a mark of respect, the flag outside the Council offices at Richmond House is flying at half-mast.
