Welcoming our new Allotments Officer

March 1st saw use welcome our new Allotments Officer, Mandy, onto the team at Gainsborough Town Council, so some holders are likely to have already seen a new face on site.

Mandy is currently settling in well, conducting on-site visits and working on allocating new plots (if you’re interested in having a plot, you can find out more here).

This means we are well on our way to start helping locals enjoy the benefits of having their own allotments, ensuring all plots are occupied and being actively used all while helping our green-fingered community to grow.

Plot Numbering System

Please be aware that as of 21/03/2023, our grounds team have been putting in numbered stakes into every holder’s plot to clearly identify the plot number.

This will be taking place across the following allotment sites: Foxby Hill, Spital Hill, Showfields, North Warren and Love Lane.

Please, under no circumstance, remove these stakes. They are essential to improving navigation of all sites and helping new holders find their plots with ease.

If you would like to discuss this further with our Allotments Officer Mandy, please contact the office on 01427 811573 or email us on allotments@gainsborough-tc.gov.uk

Community Garden

Feel as though your current plot is a bit too much to manage alone? Rather than leaving the allotments there is an alternative. Get involved in our newest planned venture, the Community Garden.

Led by our new Allotments Officer Mandy, the Community Garden will be a shared space where holders who struggle to manage a whole plot alone will be able to take part in a collaborative growing group.

We know there are lots of holders with vast knowledge to share and we want to help keep people like you on-site with a suitable allotment patch you can manage with ease.

If you would be interested in getting involved, please contact us by phone or the allotments email inbox, that way we can get you added onto our list.
