PLANNING APPLICATIONS \ni. Application Ref No: 143913\nProposal: Planning application for conversion of 3 bed house to 2no. flats/bedsits\nLocation: 60 Etherington Street\, Gainsborough \n RESOLVED to object to the proposed conversion in the application on the following grounds: \nEtherington Street is a residential area with predominantly two and three bedroom terraced family homes with small gardens. Converting the existing property into two separate bedsits would\, in the committee’s opinion\, not be in keeping with the local area. \nCar parking in the area is already a problem. splitting the property potentially increases the number of resident car owners and therefore the number of car parking spaces required. The plans do not propose the provision of off-street parking. \nThere is very limited on street parking. The proposed development would thus potentially increase the highway congestion in the area. \n5. DECISION NOTICES \nMembers NOTED that none had been received. \n6. STREET NAMING \nMembers NOTED that none had been received. \n7. TREE PRESERVATION ORDERS \nMembers NOTED that none had been received. \n 8. The update makes recommendations to have a survey done on tree/trees on Levellings. Whilst it mentions that\, provided there are no issues with planning\, they will remove the tree/trees and repair any damage to the pathways\, it does not mention the sustainability of new tree growth to maintain or reduce Carbon Emission. \nI recommend that: \n“The Planning Committee ask for details on the replacement of any trees removed\, the location and number of replacement trees and how they will be managed to ensure growth.” \nIn this current climate the loss of trees is a world wide concern. Being very aware of how important it is to maintain and where possible increase tree numbers I am disappointed that this was not automatically raised by the Chair or other Councillors and if it had been discussed should have been reflected in the update. \nI know for many people the removal of trees is not seen as an issue\, however I hear comments regularly from residents who do feel strongly that the trees we have left are preserved wherever possible and at least replaced\, and I feel the Council should set an example. \nSeconded by Councillor Plastow. \nRESOLVED to extend the meeting passed 2 hours. \nRESOLVED to ask the Property and Services Committee for details on the replacement of any trees removed\, the location and number of replacement trees and how they will be managed to ensure growth.” \nMeeting concluded at 9.03pm \n
